Alternative insurance but I don't qualify

There is a medical insurance advertised on the radio that says it is for Christians and very affordable. They pay premiums and when someone gets sick, their expenses are paid. I assume there is a deductible but I did not find out because I did not qualify to join even though I am a Christian. You might wonder what disqualifies me..well, the fact that I do not belong to a church. Because I don't need a support group to maintain my faith, because I don't want to listen to a sermon each week, I don't qualify for that type of insurance. So I remain uninsured. I really don't think that is fair but it is a private business and they have the right to ask for whatever qualifications they want from their insured members. I just don't think it's very Christian of them!

It is a problem when basic needs are not met due to some arbitrary line in the sand

Yes, it's a real dilemma with me. I can't afford insurance rates after the ACA went into effect and I'm just getting sicker with no end in sight. I wish I could have my old affordable policy back! There are a lot of people in the boat with me, though, and that's what's the saddest. Then to deny affordable insurance to someone just because they are not a member of a church...

@dragon54u it is a problem--insurance rates across the board are hugely expensive--

Not very Christian of them all after all some of the people who are least Christian among us try to hide it by going to church.... I am Christian but I do not go to church as I feel judged

Yeah, a lot of churches are really judgey and then in the next breath they will quote that line that says judge not lest ye be judged--usually when someone is judging them! Most Christians I know are very good people. They can sure be narrow minded, though. They forget Jesus' simple message "love one another".

I'm sorry to say you didn't qualify for a new insurance, but I wonder what being on a religion has got to do with it. Some people are just christian by reputation but doesn't really care what God says. But sometimes I need to go to church if my own personal prayers no longer worked.

The idea behind this insurance scheme is Christians working together, I guess they think they can trust each other if they all belong to a church.

There are plenty of Christians who aren't very Christian. It's a shame you can't get insurance with them though.

Yeah, I'd like to even get a catastrophic policy because if I don't get some tests and medication soon I'll end up in the hospital. And no insurance. This whole situation just makes no sense to me.

@dragon54u I knew very little about your health care systems and still don't know a lot but we do seem to be much better off in Australia.

Yes, very "Christian" of them. But that's their right, I guess.

It is, because it's a private company. I'm just really peeved. That will happen in a free country, you can't please everyone. But my insurance was stolen by the government's new laws and I'm just so angry about it and can't afford what they want. So I take it out on places like this company and I resent it when I shouldn't.

Insurance ...this is one of the organizations I hate most. Totally a big cheat. They do neither social service nor they prove themselves helpful to the society. Just swallow..swallow...money..
