Have you ever organized or had a surprise party?

I've been in both situations (and they're great). I was happy both to organize and to receive a surprise party because in both ways I felt super important to my family and my friends. But if I had to choose, I think the coolest thing is to organize the party. Suprise parties are for you?

I would love for someone to organise a surprise party for me. Well, I might not love it. Would depend who'd organised it, what they'd done, and how it turned out! I mean, I wouldn't be ungrateful but, knowing my luck, it would be organised by someone who had no idea of my tastes and nobody would turn up! I have, however, organised a surprise party. I did it for my big sister's 40th birthday. I knew she wanted a party. She had, in fact, said that she wanted a surprise party! She is very forgetful and I had managed to keep everything a surprise. I think she was expecting something like a barbecue in a back garden with the usual family. She didn't expect that I'd hire a hall and get other family and friends turn up. I think she was more impressed with the panda balloons, though. I liked arranging that. :)

I've been in both situations. I've organized surprise parties and my husband also managed to throw one for me. It was fun being on either end.

Organizing the party is the best thing to be part of for me. Many really don't like surprise parties. Maybe these are always more fun for those of us planning the party.

I don't remember organising any surprise parties for any one, but I remember I did get one. My hubby invited friends over for dinner, but then it turned out to be my birthday party. How embarrassing and how uncomfortable for me. I don't like being the star of the night so surprise party, or any party, is not for me. What surprise party are you going to organise?

Yeah even I have been on both sides, but I love organizing because it feels so cool. Just like a detective story. We hide the surprise from the person and make sure everything goes on perfectly. It also makes us happy to see others being happy with our surprise. I just love it.
