Jeez, don't fly United unless you want to be beaten up!

They needed seats for their employees and asked for volunteers on an overbooked flight. They only got one. A doctor with patients to see the next day refused to get off the plane so they dragged him out and he appeared back on the plane with blood on his face a torn clothing.
OMG, they could have put their employees in a rental car from Chicago to Louisville cheaper than kicking people off the flight.
Don't fly United!!! What a horrible way to treat a patron.

I tried to complain to United since I'll probably be flying in the next 6 months but the form required my phone number and no one gets that.

You would think so, right? They could have gotten their employees a rental car, it's not that far to Louisville, rather than inconvenience paying passengers. Someone needs to be fired over this, probably a LOT of someones!

Overbooking a flight is not the fault of any of the passengers. . . . Forcing a paying passenger to get out from the plane is, I believe, a criminal act. I hope the passenger is going to bring the case to court. He needs to be compensated not less than 20 million U.S. dollars for the bad treatment he got from United.
. . Actually, I saw this thing in CNN News. I think the passenger is a doctor.

I completely agree. It was a doctor and he had patients to see the next day, he needed to be on that flight. No matter who he was, though, no one deserves that treatment and overbooking should be illegal. I hope he sues and gets millions!!!

@dragon54u He was dragged out from the plane like those criminals being pursued and handcuffed by cops.

I won't either. I did once, years ago, and it was not a good experience. The employees were very rude and it seems the nicer I was to them, the worse they were to me.

@fishtiger58 I love Southwest! They are friendly, funny, and seem to really enjoy their work for the most part. They appreciate that my paying to fly provides them a living.

@dragon54u I prefer Southwest Airlines and I hope those that caused this incident get called out for it.

Yeah read that one online. Its all over the place. Officer who dragged the passenger away had been suspended until further notice.

I wonder why he even thought that it was acceptable to drag a paying passenger down the aisle of the plane. Obviously, United Airlines and the airport management have some serious issues regarding their treatment of paying customers.

I saw that on the news and I was shocked and disgusted by their actions! It was THEIR fault-not the passengers fault. If THEY didn't over book there wouldn't have been an issue to begin with. Ugh.

Now the CEO is saying the poor guy was "belligerent and disruptive"!! On the bright side, Asian passengers appear to be boycotting the airline and their stock fell 3.3%, which is pretty significant. I hope they are successfully sued and I rarely approve of such lawsuits.

Another reason I don't fly. My car is never overbooked!!! And, with the early arrival times for going through security and checking in and everything, I can drive to Chicago almost as fast as a flight would take.

Yes, it is. Why did they not think of putting their employees on a bus or rent a car?! It's not that far from Chicago to Louisville. And to beat up a passenger is inexcusable.

That doesn't sound good does it? I wouldn't be flying with them.

It is. I do not understand why they overbook flights, that should be illegal. If they had not overbooked they would have room for the employees they wanted to fly.

That's not a way to treat a customer. Nor a people for that matter.
