COME ON MYLOTERS -- LET US PLAY NICE.

In the Mylot world and other sites like this one -- members are obviously not all from the same country - there is a wonderful mix of people from all over the world. People with different cultures, backgrounds etc.
Now, some writers may use a word or term or turn of phrase which may seem strange or weird to another member - especially if he or she knows little or nothing about the culture of that writer's country.
Therefore members, whenever we come upon comments that may seem - strange or backward in our view - try not to respond as if that writer is a fool. It is highly likely - in some cases - that the member with the weird comment is much brighter than you are.
Just a nice reminder.

This is very true, assume nothing or act as if you know everything and call people names or words like " ignorant" etc... cause it would tell a lot about yourself and what you are

@destry there is always a better way to call their attention and let them know, I am sure, much better than calling a person " ignorant" outright especially if you are in a site like Mylot, that is if you understand what I mean, but then you have your choice, then do what you want to or think have to if that would make you feel great then fine. Hope you have a fine day.

@louievill So if some one is lacking knowledge or awareness of the rules, is there a better word to describe them than ignorant? Seeing as the definition of ignorant is:- lacking knowledge or awareness . . .

@Kandae11 loved this post, and thank you for the gentle remainder! A little understanding would never hurt anyone! It's good to appreciate the differences!

You said what I was about to say. With so much exposure there is no telling who is better than the other in the world as a whole.

I would hope that we would all take care to explain things to those who don't get the idiom from whatever country it originates.

I don't see members being nasty to one another very often at all here. It's what I love about mylot.

@Kandae11 That would certainly make me happy. I so don't care for unnecessary drama.

In total agreement.
We can all get along with each other regardless of where we are from.

Everybody is much brighter than me anyway! I love the fact that the internet makes it so easy for everyone to come together and learn.

That's right the differences does not matter unless we understand each other. It's good to have difference of opinions that helps us to know the world and people much better. This is a good post, loved it.

But conflict is the spice of discussion!
And--when you can't think of any argument to make (or anything nice to say)--sometimes 'an insult' is the only thing that'll seem appropriate! (I know the phrase is 'if you can't think of anything nice to say, don't say anything at all,' but how much does 'not saying anything at all' pay?)

@Kandae11 hmm ... "lively" ... but sometimes you have to 'try really hard' to "inject some life into the discussion"---sorta like those times when you actually have to think about 'breathing,' unlike times (e.g. when you're sleeping, relaxing, etc.) when "breathing" is just the natural thing to do

I try to understand comments that don't always make sense...but I don't point to that person that they are wrong or whatever.
