Sunshine, Warm Weather, and Snow

This the view of Pikes Peak from a bus stop on the West Side of Colorado Springs about an hour ago as I write this. You'll notice that it still has snow on it.
Yet, we're in the 70's today and tomorrow, 60's for the weekend, then back to the 70's.
This is a yearly thing, actually. It's always really cool each year to be basking in the sun, in shorts and flip flops, to look west and still see snow, then watching that snowpack slowly diminish each day as it melts.
Not too fast, though. There is usually still visible snow even in June.
It's just one of the cool things about living here.

That's still pretty white! I was amazed at the snow we saw in the distant mountains at the end of February here . . . that's crazy you can still see snow in June!

@teamfreak16 I assume that peak must be pretty high up there? Do you ever go out there when it's hot where you are?

@much2say - It's over 14,000 ft high. We live at the foot. Believe it or not, I've skied on it, but I've never been to the top.

It's pretty wild when it happens. It's all hot, but the mountain still has snow on it.

And I thought the focal point was Safeway lol! Always nice to see snow without having to experience it.

It is a great view. We get to see it everyday, which is nice.
