Welcome to this Easter edition of my Favorite 80's Dance Songs series. We are at #6, "My Heart Goes Bang (Get Me to the Doctor,") by Dead or Alive. Dead or Alive formed in Liverpool, England in 1979, and continued until vocalist Pete Burns' death in 2016. Best known for their 1985 smash hit "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record,)" Dead or Alive has sold over 30 million albums and 28 million singles worldwide. They are ranked as Billboard Magazine's 96th most successful dance artist of all time. From their 1985 international hit album, Youthquake (gold in the US and UK, platinum in Canada,) "My Heart Goes Bang (Get Me to the Doctor)" did alright for itself. At 125 BPM (Beats per Minute,) it was a club hit, reaching #15 on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Play chart, which is comprised from a survey of club DJ's. The song also hit the Top 40 on the singles charts of five countries, including #23 in the UK. Sure, "My Heart Goes Bang" never quite climbed out of the massive shadow cast by "You Spin Me Round," but I've always liked "My Heart Goes Bang" a little better. Always have, always will. R.I.P., Pete. Thanks for the music. (Info verified by Wikipedia)

I think of the feeling when you reminisce on old memories, though full of nostalgia but again it brings in a sense of youthfulness and reality... I think it is full of fun remembering them with the peers back them ..

Same album, but overshadowed. Youthquake was a really good record.

It was definitely overshadowed by "You Spin Me Round."

LOVED this band back in the day! I think I had this track on either a 45 or a 12-inch extended single.

I had a DOA concert video on VHS. This was the opening song.
