F-350 Dually 4-Door Long-Bed, That's a Lot of Truck

While I was at the dealer having my wife's car serviced this afternoon I test drove a Ford F-250 Superduty 4X4, 4-Door, Short-Bed Pickup Truck. The one I drove had more bells and whistles than the truck I want, but I will probably have to order one to get just what I want and need. In the meantime, the one I drove today is close enough. It rode smooth, for a truck, and I could tell I was driving a truck with heavy duty suspension. Even though it was big, I got used to driving it very quickly and was comfortable behind the wheel by the time the salesman and I got back to the lot. Then he smiled and said, "Let me show you one other truck." The other truck was the one described in the title. We didn't drive it. It took too long just to walk from the tailgate to the front passenger door. The reason he wanted to show it to me was the hitch assist camera it had for helping back up to a gooseneck trailer. The truck I'm probably going to order will have one, too, but the one I test drove didn't. Maybe after I drive the F-250 for a while, the idea of a big F-350 won't intimidate me as much. For now, the step up from my Tacoma to the F-250 is enough of a step for me. Have you ever driven a big truck? How big? What did you pull with it?

Far too much wagon for me! I shall stick to my bicycle, I know I can handle that!

Some days I long for my motorcycle, pup tent, and be droll. Much simpler times.

@DWDavis I get those feelings and then realise I like a bit of comfort!

We had trucks when we were married. They were your normal everyday pickup truck, not the fancy ones they have today, but then this was 25 years ago at least about the time they added the backseat. Things have really changed in that time. I'm glad you liked the truck you drove. Sounds like you'll be getting it soon.

I thought I'd be getting it sooner rather than later, but the missus is having second thoughts.

Do you have a gooseneck trailer? You don't see a lot of them here. We wouldn't mind a reversing camera but at the moment it's all up to me to back Vince in wherever he needs to be!

We don't have one now, but we are planning on getting one when we upgrade our camper in a couple years.

Never drove a truck. I was too young to drive when we had a pickup.

I've driven trucks bigger than both the F-250 and F-350 when I was in the Army, and when I worked for the ski area right after getting out of the Army, but that was over 30 years ago.

I've never driven a big truck, nor pulled anything with one. My friend does have a fifth wheel with a pretty big truck.

We're looking at getting a 5th wheel next year or maybe the year after and figure we might as well get the truck we'll need to pull it now, instead of having to trade up then.

I love that song ! Also I am a fan of the newer Ford trucks, the backup camera would definitely come in handy when hooking the truck up to haul things.

Our Tacoma has a backup camera in the tailgate, and our Fusion has on the trunk lid. I've gotten spoiled by them.
