What do you think about websites with background audio?

Personally, I do not mind the sites with appropriate music, such as Jingle Bells for a website that has a Christmas theme. However, I hate the ones that automatically play loud heavy beat music or an audio introduction.
I like to play my own music while on the internet and this type of site can be very annoying.

I don't like them.
Whenever I'm on computer, I've song player on ...it creates problem then.

I surf with my speakers off usually just because of that. I also have a fear that some of the audio files could transmit viruses.

if there is a background music on the website i'm browsing, i'll listen to it first then turn off the volume. i also close the website and find another website which is related to the website i'm browsing because it takes too much resources from my browsing and internet connection and because i'm only using dial-up connection it slows down the connection and the browsing just like large pictures on a website.

I utterly detest the background music in some websites. Everytime it comes on you are surprised and usually it plays real loud. Then you have to break away from what your doing and have to lower the volume. Also, the music is often annoying like I dont know what....

I agree with you totally. If the theme of the site requires a melodious musical background as the one pointed out by you, is ok. These audio introductions with all those slang and accent are horrible. Still we have the choice to turn our speakers off.

it depends on the audio that is playing, but for me i don't like if, sometimes i find it annoying because of the volume,. thanks for asking have a nice day to you.

It drives me crazy. Sometimes it scares the heck out of me when all of a sudden it starts playing music. Then everyone wants to know what you are looking at online!

I don't know for what reason, but in 99% of the time, the speakers of my notebook are turned off. And even if they aren't, when I come across a site like this, and it starts playing some music, I just turn it off immediatly. I don't even know why. I guess, I just don't like unsolocited sounds.

Yeah I agree with U..it certainly is an irritant for me..every one out there..at home...
