I wonder how much money I have 'given away' here?

Yeah, it's not something I 'need to know' but sometimes I get curious about it.
Our 'bank' tells us how much we have received from other people interacting with us but it would be interesting to know how much we have given other people by interacting with them.
Of course, we are never going to know - it would make it too easy to 'break' the algorithm. We could make just one response...or comment...or give one 'like'...and wait for that figure to update.
*tosses that idea out the window*

@allknowing Not really, when you factor in 'likes' and comments received within discussions from other people you engage in. Responses don't give much of the true story.

But really there is no way to tell what you have 'got' unless you go through every discussion and count everything up.

@JolietJake I think too much data is dangerous on sites like this. People get fixated on 'He got more than he gave' and can get really petty about it. Just think how irritating the 'I've earned 60 dollars this month' posts are to everybody.

I have days I spend a lot of time commenting and responding to comments. Then there other days....I submit a discussion and head out of town.

Looking at one's personal totals (posts, likes, comments) will reveal ratios of how well one is "giving" back.

To an extent. For instance, my ratio of discussions created vs replied to is around 1/5, but I was referring to a monetary figure people have received from me vs what I am receiving.

@JolietJake That would be next to impossible to determine as there are so many variables here as each post seems to be individually weighted from activity amount.

I learned a long time ago, not to think that way. I would probably be disappointed, but I guess that is also the way of the world. One day things will even out. At least that is what I tell myself and I sure I have not commented back on some people as often I should have also.

I'm sure I 'give away' quite a bit, but I receive a lot too. I don't have the patience to go through and count how many responses, comments and 'likes' I have received, but I have 'given away' almost 76,600 of them.
