PayPal Fees

I am trying to figure out how PayPal works in terms of fees... I've received money via PayPal (from HubPages and Lulu, which are US based companies) and I never had to pay any fees... But what happens when I receive money from someone that doesn't live in the US, and that person sends me money in USD? Does that mean they pay a currency conversion fee and I pay a fee for receiving money from them because they live in another country? And how much would all those fees be?
