Waste of resources gathering 100 senators for a briefing on North Korea

Trump sure know how to waste resources.
I am sure senators can get to know about the situation in North Korea by reading the news.
There is no necessity to gather all the senators for a briefing, unless Trump is going to go into war, and he needs Congress approval for the budget to fight a stupid war.
Defense and intelligence officials will talk Donald Trump's North Korea strategy in a rare White House meeting with every senator on Wednesday.

"The news" does NOT have access to classified information. They don't have a clue of the military and surveillance information that the leaders get in briefings. Thank God for that, or they'd blab it all.

The minute that briefing is held, all the information will leak.
Isn't that a stupid idea? If the briefing is not mean to provide access to classified information, then what is the purpose!
It all boils down to money.
Trump needs the approval of Congress to declare war.
According to the news, a separate briefing with members of the House will be held.
How classified can information remain classified by then?
I think Trump is trying to strike fear in them, so that they can approve billion-dollars budget for a war against North Korea.

@scheng1 -- when you get a clearance, you know how to protect the information.

@FourWalls as if that will stop news from leaking out.
Trump administration has leaked out so confidential information that should not be leaked out, and that is without involving 100 senators.

@scheng1The horrifying thing is the POTUS DOES have the right to preemptively strike without the approval of Congress including with nuclear weapons which he has the codes for.

Hope so. Trump does seem very keen to start a war, but he has to get the money from Congress.
I think that is what the senators meeting is all about.
He has to terrify them so that they can approve his request for billions to start a war that ultimately kills innocent people.
