Two-Hour Delay This Morning

It started raining at the campground Saturday afternoon. The rain continued all night and all day Sunday during the drive home. It rained all Sunday night and all day Monday. It rained Monday night and finally stopped about mid-morning Tuesday. That's a lot of rain. Now it is Wednesday and schools here in my district are on a two-hour-delay because several roads are flooding over as all the rain from the last several days fills the creeks and eventually the river to flood stage and beyond. North and west of here had major street flooding yesterday. Some areas of our county are expected to see it today as the river crests. The Transportation Office is working like mad to reroute buses around closed roads. The delay is to help give them time, and to make sure the buses don't roll until full daylight so the drivers can see problems not yet reported. Ah, Mother Nature. She likes to remind us of whose really in charge now and then. How are things where you are this morning?

@AbbyGreenhill I'd say our drought is probably over.

Climate change is wreaking havoc on our seasons and weather.

@DWDavis It would certainly seem so. Our changes have been less severe but they are still discernible as 'changes'.

It was accumulating plenty here the last few days. Now it's all in the river and flooding.

Just routine Southern California sunshine in the low 80s. At least you won't have to worry about a drought.

Didn't y'all get some relief from your drought this spring?

@DWDavis Yes, the drought was essentially cured to the point of dangerous overflow reservoir situations.

It rained yesterday, supposed to today and tomorrow, then snow on Friday. But it's been nothing like that.

Right now I don't think snow is a worry, but with the seasons being schizophrenic lately, I won't count it out.

@DWDavis - Of course, despite the forecast, it hasn't rained all day.

Rain can really ruin the day specially if your plan is to go on camping. I think it's practical still to bring umbrella even if it's summer.

We have had much needed rain for the past two days, but the weekend is going to be glorious. Sorry about all your rain and flooding.

The rain has ended and we are supposed to have sunny days for a while. The flooding is all the water coming downstream from up Raleigh way. They got a lot more rain than we did.

I heard about the flooding in your area. I hope it recedes quickly and everything gets back to normal. It was supposed to start raining last night and go through the next couple days, but it's still dry. The clouds are there though, so anything can happen.

The river is supposed to keep rising until Saturday, and peak at about 5 feet above flood stage.

Yesterday we awoke to about 15cm of snow in town and about 24cm up on the ski hill. I know there were accidents in Calgary and one car in the ditch going up the mountain but overall it didn't cause problems here

@DWDavis You really did get rain. Flooding is no good. I cannot tell what our weather is going to be like anymore so I just leave it up to the sky to do whatever it is going to do and hope that it will be nice when I have to go out.
