Chapter 2 of my musical journey.  (As suggested by @JamesHxstatic ) I took guitar lesson off and on for about 10 years.  You'd expect me to be really a brilliant player I suppose, however , while I was fair to middle rhythm guitar, the concept of playing lead , which I thought I wanted, never really stuck with me.  Through the years, I remember fondly my lessons.  I got to know my instructor well.  Growing up was in many ways difficult for me.  I suppose it is for everyone, - but for a teen/young adult in an odd situation - guitar lessons came to symbolize a half hour a week that was *mine* all *mine* - it belonged to me alone.   Sometimes my instructor and I would sit and visit if there was no one right after me.  Of course my instructor was "cool".  20 years older than me and in a local band.  Eventually as my interest in photography grew - I was invited to take poster photos for his band.  Though by appx. the 10 year mark 6 -string guitar felt boring to me -- like a rehash of stuff I had already learned, and yet the more difficult stuff felt impossible.  It was at this point that I came to hear "Peaches" by the Strangers in a soundtrack of a movie.  A bass guitar heavy jam. So I got the idea - why not bass? Chapter 3 in my musical journey was about to begin. * You can catch Pt. 1 by clicking "musical journey" at the top

I am just not coordinated enough to play anything. I've tried. I tried clarinet, was decent, but was better at sports. So I gave it up and never looked back.

At least you tried! You never know what might happen if you tried again ;-) What sports were your favorites?

That's interesting to read. The only musical instrument i have ever played is the flute and that too when i was at school. I was not so good at it

@FayeHazel in fact i never tried playing other instruments. I wanted to do piano at a certain point but then I got involved into sports and dropped the idea

Maybe you would do better with different type of instrument? I know I tried harmonica and it didn't go so well lol

Interesting! I am still struggling with chord changes. My"hour" lessons are more like an hour and a half.

I always used to like when lessons would run long. :-) Hang in there - sooner than you know the chords will become muscle memory and you won't need to think about them. That's when it gets fun! :-) I hope to hear more about how it's coming along
