Why are we allowing left wing terrorism to win?

As many have noticed, left wing extremists have been getting more violent and destructive over the past year, especially since Trump's victory in the election last November. During his inauguration, 217 of these violent thugs were arrested in DC. Since then there have been countless videos of violent leftists attacking businesses, and people that they believe are Trump supporters. More recently, left wing terrorists have gotten exceptionally violent at college campuses. Attacking bystanders, destroying property, and setting fires. College campuses have encouraged this by allowing it, and ordering police to stand aside, making no arrests. It has now reached the point where all these terrorists have to do is threaten violence, and colleges like Berkeley will simply cancel the speaker who offends these terrorists. In Portland, they've taken it a step further, refusing the basic first amendment rights of republicans who want to march because left wing terrorists have promised violence. Rather than confront these terrorists, the city of Portland has caved to their demands, just as UC Berkeley and other colleges have. When does it stop? When do we actually prosecute the terrorists instead of taking away the rights of innocent people? Will democrats actually stand up for the rights of republicans, or side with the terrorists who share their ideology?
An anonymous email threatened to “rush into the parade” and “drag and push” those marching with the Republican Party.

Okay dude...what's up with sneaking in here while I ain't looking? I haven't seen you for years, and then I look at your profile and you've been puttering around for a bit now. Lamb here, by the way. I agree, I get so ticked off at idiots...left wing, right wing, center wing...they come from all political 'sides' in my opinion, it's just the nuts on the left are being nuttier than everyone else. I do have to question whether their (republicans) 'first amendment rights' are actually being violated though...

Yeah, about a month ago I figured I'd check if mylot still existed and, lo and behold, it does. So I started posting here again. Good to see you by the way. The right to peaceably assemble is part of the first amendment. When Portland, OR shut down the march because of terroristic threats from the left, they blocked those republicans from exercising their first amendment rights. There's good and bad on both sides, but you didn't see anyone making terroristic threats against democrats during their mutlitude of marches against Trump. The only violence and damage during their marches came from their own party.

@Taskr36 Actually, the first amendment states 'Congress shall pass no law' etc etc. Shutting down the march is not a violation of the first amendment. I think there are many dolts out there right now...and many of them should just be arrested and have it done with. My nephew, for some bizarre reason, thinks destruction of property is a valid form of protest. I think anyone that assaults or threatens anyone should be arrested for it. Period. Idiots rioting to get their way are criminals.

@JolietJake Your point is valid, but I still disagree. If there is a law allowing the government to refuse the right to march, speak, and protest, then that law violates the first amendment. If the government is refusing this right without a law backing them, then the government is breaking the law. Either way, the Bill of Rights wasn't meant to give people rights, but rather to prevent the government from violating natural rights that people are born with and already have.

Of course I remember you. While the name "MIKE" is common, your profile pic is very memorable. :) I totally understand the desire to stay out of politics. It gets brutal here. I'm just a glutton for punishment. :)

All these protests and attacks serve no purpose. Even if they are angry at Trump, that is not the right way to do things. After all, they cannot hurt Trump or make him become a better President.

Colleges and cities are thinking in terms of "harm reduction" and damage control these days, not protecting anyone's rights. I agree that thugs and arsonists should be arrested and prosecuted.
