Day 232 Proverbs 21:20 Proverbs 21:20 There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spends it up. 21 He that follows after righteousness and mercy finds life, righteousness, and honor. Mention the word, treasure, and everyone wants in on it. They will do whatever it takes to be part of getting their hands on it. How they take care of their treasure once they have it, is the difference between being wise and foolish. Solomon was a man of wealth. However, the treasure he spoke of here had nothing to do with earthly wealth, but spiritual wealth only God can give. He said those who followed righteousness and mercy would have life, righteousness, and honor. God gives those traits to people who follow hard after him, seeking him with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. His father, David, said the fool says there isn’t any God. Psalm 14:1 < The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. (KJV) Without God, a foolish man will not look for spiritual treasure, but will seek what he can take from life, wasting all his resources on them and have nothing to show for what he has. As Christians, you know the value of seeking God first. Your life isn’t an empty shell rushing after whatever you desire, but it is found doing God’s work and experiencing the rewards of a life bound up in Jesus Christ, as God gives you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. (KJV) Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (KJV) Deuteronomy 6:5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. (KJV) Luke 10:27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself. Loving God equals spiritual wealth. You gain life, righteousness, and honor. Let’s pray: Father, let me live my life fully devoted to you, seeking you first so that my life will not be an empty shell rushing after the wind. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. There is a verse in the Bible which says : what profit is it to a man, if he should gain the whole world and lose his soul?

@Kandae11 And that's the sad truth for all those who run after earthly wealth and not after God's eternal spiritual wealth.
