I was shocked when i found baby mosquitoes in my dog's water... they are like small worms that wiggle wiggle in the water. I think dad forgot to change the water yesterday. Good thing i checked and immediately replaced it. I hope Sandy wasn't able to drink it yet

I hope your dog didn't have a sip of it. That would be a problem for deworming again.

@ridingbet well, i am not really sure... larvae do look like worms both just don't belong inside a dog's stomach

my friend, i don't think baby mosquitoes, or the larvae, can bring about worms. hehehe!

That's horrible. I do hate the mosquitoes. Try to change the fresh water more often and it will avoid the baby mosquitoes.

I guess he wouldn't be the first dog to swallow a few mosquito larvae but it's good you found them first.

yeah, since dogs really want to have a lick at everything

Good thing you changed the water Lady Di, there are all sorts of things that can make our pet's sick. They always seem to want to eat things they shouldn't, it's amazing how curious they are and you really have to safe guard your home. take care Lady Di, big hugs from Cathy XO

oh my. when i hear of such things i wonder if my dog had gotten any thing like that which made her sick. i never found out if she was sick from just being old or something they missed. i always made sure she had fresh water but others in the house could have let her have or do something i did not know about. what happens if they drink that?

my dog vomited yesterday, but he is fine now.. maybe a small amount won't do much harm.. but prevention is better than cure

these wiggling mosquitoes are the larvae of mosquitoes. we call them 'kiti-kiti', in Filipino, right? that is why we have to change the water every day, even in vases, or plastic bottles because these places can be the breeding places of mosquitoes, that are carriers of dengue fever, malaria, and other diseases as well
