Good morning, mylotters.
For a long time I have been calling you "friends". I have been here for 7 or 8 years and there are many people I know more than other people offline that I like very much. With many of you I write on a daily basis, something that I don´t do with any of my best friends.
I have always thought that mylot is like a bog party where you walk around and get first into a group and then into another. Some conversations are not interesting to you so you don´t join. But there are people that will always say something that is interedting for you. Those, after some time, I call "friends".
Some days ago, a mylotter wrote about her not wanting to be called in some way. It seems that in her country it is not a respectful way of addresing a woman. The post went on and I read many threads.
At some point, a mylotter said that even calling a person "friend" was disrespectful.
Now I´m shy as to what to call you, mylotters. I started to feel (in a pesimistic mood) that instead of being a nice party, this site was like a giant bus station or airport. And I don´t like it.
How do you want me to call you? Friends? Mylotters? Nothing?

I am very easy going Marguicha. I have an open mind as to what others may be thinking and I do not get easily offended. I take in the fact of place of origin and terms that people use.
Don't have any exclusive term I like to be called.
It is all harmless and welcomed by me.
In fact, I like the diversity here.
I do hope I do not offend anyone ever.
Nice photo there Marguicha, your place?

@TiarasOceanView I can see the Andes from my door and it is such a beauty! I think the only thing I love about Winter is the first chilly heavy rain. The next day it is sunny and clear here and we can see the Andes nearby with a blue-blue sky.

I like being called friend and I refer to other mylotters as my friends. If somebody is offended by it then they should just scroll on by. I like the closeness that many members on here share. That is what makes this group so wonderful. Don't ever change who you are because of what somebody says. You are such a sweet person and I am blessed to call you my friend.

@Happy2BeMe Many people here don´t check on profiles. Other people don´t write much in their prfiles so that we know age and gender.

I am moved by your words
I was so confused by those answers as I didn´t mean any harm. Of course there are people that call us inapprpiate names, But even then, I think they don´t mean it. Acouple of times I have been called "dude" by a man from India. I just laughed.

ItS fair. But I wonder what´s the line in online writting. There are people I hardly see. Others that answer my posts regularly and comment about things I write.

You do know you've written 'bog party'? I have no objection to being called 'friend'. In fact, I like it. I'd ignore the petty comments you've received. If a person doesn't like 'friend' they should say so politely but suggest an alternative that they are happy with.

I´m glad. It was in one of your posts that I started to write with another mylotter as to what would be called ofensive and the word friend came up.
