the green slug

Once upon a time there lived a green slug, deep in the damp non-pond at the bottom of the garden. He was big and squishy, and just a little bit slimy, and he waved his little bug eyes atop his little bug stalks as he meandered across the breeze blocks.
The breeze blocks were relics, discovered buried beneath cheap carpet, itself smothered in layers of black plasticky lining, which was once full of stinky sludgy green pond water. A broken gnome found buried nearby told the truth about the previous occupants; they liked gnomes.
Meanwhile, the green slug continued on his merry way, waving his bug eyes on his bug stalks at the woodlice, the freaky enormous spiders and the bizarre red creatures.
I have never seen a green slug before.
I hope to never set eyes on one ever again.

I can't stand them! They make me feel ill. This is the first slug I've seen in the garden this year.

The slugs that visit us are colourless but slimy alright.

A lovely story but about the squishy fellow green slug.
I would not want to meet him, though his journey is long and interesting.
I love this!!

I'm a bit concerned that his journey may have been a bit boring for him. The bottom of the garden is a bit bereft of fun things at the moment, what with being a work in progress.

@Poppylicious I think not, alas - at least you could've charged for tickets to see it, had it been alien in origin ;)

@pgntwo Well yes, until it grew to be the size of a house and conquered the earth with its hybrid alien babies ... thank goodness it's just a common earth garden slug.

Thank goodness for that. My garden is usually inhabited by reddish-brown and/or black ones. I was a little concerned I had stumbled upon some alien species!

I wonder if it would have alerted me to its presence by glowing if I had been in the garden in the night-time.

As camouflage it probably worked better when the dirty green pond water was there for him to blend into!

@Poppylicious It is seasonal that these creatures come out. You can visit my city. It is a great place.
