The word “wanderlust” means a “strong desire to travel”. Since physical travel is very unlikely for me I follow a blog called “WORLD OF WANDERLUST”. The blog publisher shared a list of cities which are deemed to be the best places for creative people. Define “creative”. Sorry. The post does not do that, nor can I. You will have to use your imagination. :) Got very excited to see that Austin, Texas is on the list. The musicians are great here, and the food-truck entrepreneurs can make eating food a new experience!! For sure, New York City is on the list too. Can you guess which city is Number One and which is Number 10. I guessed wrong. My guesses were flip-flopped. I thought Number 10 was Number 1; and Number 1 was Number 10. Glad it wasn't a real test!

I've heard that Austin is getting gentrified. I should visit your city while it has a bit of the old ways feel.

Please visit. I keep wanting to visit the state of Washington. As time passes I don't think that will ever happen. So it's nice to meet people from there or who live there. I have heard that it is a beautiful state.

@cmoneyspinner Washington state is probably like Texas- different climates depending on where you live. I'm on the East side of the Cascade mountains, dry and more desert like than the West Seattle side.

@sallypup - A fellow co-worker from one of my old jobs said they call Seattle "The Emerald City". Sounds wonderful!

That list took me by surprise. I would have figured #10 in the #1 spot as well. I was also surprised to see where New York landed. Very interesting. My granddaughter lives in Austin.

The list was surprising. I too was surprised at where New York showed up on the list. Great that you have people in Austin, Texas! Do you have plans to visit your granddaughter? We relocated here in 1998. Had no family and no friends here. But we have no regrets.

@just4him - If you don't get to see them at least you have pictures. They are so adorable!

@cmoneyspinner Not right now. I wish I could, but I need the funds for it. I would be able to see my great granddaughters if I could get there. I'm sure they're growing like weeds. They were two and three when they left last year. This was their birthday last year. They are one year and three days apart.

Austin is a place I can live. NYC is a place I only care to visit. However, as they say: "If you can make it there (NYC), you can make it anywhere". So your ice princess is probably where she should be to realize her dreams and ambitions.

@cmoneyspinner I certainly understand. Her daddy can pay for her lessons by working in NYC. However, it's killing him. Lol!
