Misbehaving Dog

I love my dog to death and she's smart, if she would apply it. She gets WAY too excited when I try to teach her how to do things. She's about 8 months. I got her when she was about 4 months, and I've taught her to go to the door when she has to go potty, although half the time she doesn't go to the door, she'll just go and use it in the house. She's chewed up half of my stuff and some of it is irreplaceable. I sometimes think it's nearly impossible to train her since she's already almost a year.. and I've tried. Have you ever had this problem? And if you fixed it, how did you do it??

My daughter took her puppy to training and it was very successful. I think she did it through Pet Smart

Get her a dog training school. It is quite impossible to teach her if you are too lenient. You need to be strict and punish her when she does mistakes. It is alike teaching a growing toddler

I'm not lenient. And I do punish her. But again, I'm not too rough on her either but she knows when she does something bad, I'll come back and she'll run to her "safe spot" because she knows she's done something I have told her not to do before.

May be it takes little more time to understand all that, but don't punish her, i am against all this cruelty. The poor animals never asked us to adopt , we bring them home for our happiness. Let her take time. I can understand your pain but we can't help.

She's young and probably her teeth was constantly growing..It's better if you keep her away from stuff she's tempted to chew.
