My daughter might have tourettes syndrome!!

I took my daughter to her new psyche doctor yesterday. Her old one left and started his own practice with another doctor. This new doctor thinks my daughter might have a form of tourettes. She had her blood work drawn this morning. I won't find anything out til the end of the month if it is confirmed or not. I am not sure what to think with everything that has been going on. I am glad this doctor is at least looking into different avenues compared to the last one. He can tell there is more to her than ADHD, now it is figuring out what it is. He did change up her medicine routine but not change any of it yet.

Thank you. I think is too. A boy whistled at her today. She said she is slowly getting her confidence back.

I guess blood work has something to do with. Not exactly sure. I was told the meds my daughter already takes helps relieve the ticks and other issues.

I've taught children with Tourette's Syndrome. There is a huge range of symptoms. Many of my students were able to control their symptoms with meds. One eventually was cured. Your doctor should know best.

Ah, thank you. I know the meds she is on do help control some of the symptoms. The doctor did change the dosage. I am hoping it will help.

Not sure how they do it through blood work. Like I didn't know one could find out if they had rheumatoid arthritis through blood work til, my doctor said I had it.

I heard with the right medication it is something that can be managed, which is a good thing.

We see him tomorrow. I don't think she has Tourette's the more I learn bout it. I think it is more bipolar / schizophrenia. When does run in my family and somewhat on her father's side. I am going to mention to the doctor and see.

I once had two pupils (twin brothers) with a slight Tourettes Syndrome. They were both very good pupils. I was cross with their form teacher that she hadn't informed me about this. I could have put my foot in. I'm glad that I didn't. Their constant movements were disturbing and I was about to say something to make them stop. That would have been embarrassing. I hope that you'll inform your daughter's teachers.
