Firstly, my eye is no long swollen It's still ugly red though Those itsy bitsy black gnats, or whatever, were blown in by the last sandstorm we had and the evening after I took the above photo is when my eye became swollen One of those stupid black gnats few into my eye only I didn't know it had gotten into my eye. Oh before I forget, the flower is a hollyhock and of course you know that's a beautiful bee pollinating it.

Bad gnat . . . sorry your eye got swollen by it. Glad you're doing a lot better!! It's nice to see the bees in action again . . . we haven't had a swarm yet this season, but there are plenty of bees doing their thing in the yard!

Lucky you, I've only seen a few of them but that's better than nothing.

@rebelann Things have been growing like crazy here because of all that rain we finally got in the winter - so I guess that explains why the bees are here (for now . .. it's getting hot and gardens are getting fried). We supposedly get some showers during the weekend and maybe during next week. I don't know what's going on . . . I wonder if the bees are just as confused as we are about the weather!

I don't think bees give it a second thought @much2say they seem to have a built in sensor to let them know when or if they should venture to a meadow or whatnot.

I'm happy to hear your eye is getting better, albeit slowly but surely. Years ago, one caused my entire right eyelid to swell shut. Not a pretty sight. Lovely photo! Heal up completely real soon.

It's one of those stupid little black gnats that fly around your face when your out and about in the spring. My eye is better. It's still red but no longer swollen. Thank you, surprisingly this bee barely moved, I think she was high on pollen

Oh no! Those stings are no fun. I was once bitten by a wasp or yellow jacket, when I was at girl school camp, swimming in a pool. Feel better. But I was never bitten by a gnat.

Thank you but I wasn't stung by a bee, it was a tiny gnat that flew into my eye.

good to hear your eye is better. the one thing that i always found fascinating about bees is when they swarm. you dont see any around and then next thing you know, theres thousands of them in just a short amount of time. they seemingly arrive out of nowhere.

Thanks I've never been attacked by bees but those teeny gnats seem to enjoy chewing me up.
