So They Closed Schools On Us Today Because of a Threat

I probably shouldn't have been surprised considering it's been happening at some of the neighboring districts and it was only a matter of time before some kid (or, in this case, kids) copied. Plus, there's testing going on, making it the time you would expect this to happen.
They apparently sent a threat to school administrators early this morning (before 2 a.m.) mentioning guns and a bomb. It's still under investigation so they were kind of vague during the press conference but, reading between the lines, it looks like it was a prank.
The superintendent is super mad and begged parents to talk to their kids about what is becoming a frustrating epidemic. Personally, I think there's a very simple solution. Make the kids make up the lost day at the end of the year and make sure every student in the district knows the names of the people responsible for them having a shorter summer vacation. The problem will take care of itself.

That I can agree on....kids are so out of control nowadays it's impossible to handle them, unless they are handled right, from the time they are born....parents just continue to say "not my child" like they are perfect angels...also the law doesn't do much either in the way of punishment so they know they can get away with anything they want... something really needs to be done...

I agree with you that would definitely stop the problem. And the kids who did it would be embarrassed as well.
My kids don't have to worry about that since they are Home Schooled.

Such occurrences are becoming the norm.
