No getting ugly. Just what you believe and why, did your family have influence on your beliefs ? will/did you push for your children to believe the same or give them the option ? How old were you when you made the choice to stick w/ your religion ? how long have you practiced ? If you're NOT religious what has put you off. etc... (this is for learning, no judgment)

I gave up religion after getting my degree in Biology. My parents and family don't care as they aren't particularly religious themselves.

@Bluedoll Yes, religion, the bible, God, the whole shebang. I don't believe in any of it.

I don't 'follow' any 'religion'. I have coughee with God occasionally, and we talk...or at least I talk, He mostly just listens and laughs at me sometimes...I think He keeps me around because it humors Him. With the job He has, He needs a laugh once in a while. He did tell me I have just as much chance of reaching heaven as anyone else.

How does it make you feel when you speak with him, does it feel one sided or can you feel his response or guidance ?

@Yasmeena I don't feel His guidance because of Free Will. I know what most people expect God wants of me, but He just wants me to be me and not hurt anyone.

When I was young I was afraid of going to hell. And I thought a lot about it. When I was old enough I read and studied. It soon became clear to me that religion was only superstition from the time when humans knew nothing and their only choices was to invent the supernatural. I've seen nothing to change my opinion.

Religion is ritualistic that does not help anyone go to heaven. It is our deeds that are taken into account.
