THE PLAIN TRUTH.

Of course I would like to read them, but many times I am forced to skip them because of time constraints.I am referring here to very lengthy posts- which thankfully we don't see too many of. By the way, most times I skip over the two liners as well. On occasion If the lengthy post looks interesting I would make a note and try to get back to it at another time. Perhaps it would be best to post lengthy discussions in two or three parts
Now if I could spend all of my day here, the lengthy post won't pose a problem, but I must tend to my offline projects. During the period I allot to Mylot, I first deal with notifications, then I read and respond to the posts of those who respond to mine. I go next to the recent discussions, then discussions with no response and finally - hot discussions in order to see what I might have missed.
Yes, proper Mylotting does take up time, therefore posts that are not over long would help the process. By the way, I have no problem with long comments - those show that the responder finds the topic interesting enough. What are your thoughts?

Glad to see you have a system that works for you Kandase on myLot.
I am still learning even though I have been here for a long time.
I refine it everytime I learn something new.
I am fine with long posts as long as I have the time to read them.
And you are so right about parsing.

Time is important and we only have so much. So, I pick and choose topics that are of interest to me, be they long or short, if I'm interested, I make the time if not right away then later.

Some of my posts occasionally can be lengthy @Kandae11 and my hope is that those aren't boring.

I find the two liners not worth reading. Not much thought went into writing it and most of the time it's too vague to write a comment. I have no problem with long posts. I know I write them too. The two or three paragraph posts are what Goldilocks said about Baby Bear's porridge, chair, and bed - just right. There is always something you can comment on.

Takes a lot of time to write, read and interact so it is good to have a system

I've written long posts quite a bit, although I've been trying to keep them shorter than before. Some here don't want to read series type posts and when a topic is written in several parts other mylotters don't bother with those either, so we'll probably not always make everyone here happy.
One thing I miss about bubblews is that you could put the previous parts written previously as live links within your current post for those wanting to read what came before.
I don't do much with one or two liner posts either.

It takes me weeks to return comments to those who leave a comment on my posts. (Only because I don't have the whole day to be here) And i am guilty, i tend to post long posts but I'm working on that. I do read all the discussions I comment on and usually once into the story I'm hooked and read it no matter how long. BUT if it is HUGE, I will pass it up.

we have the same process of addressing the notifications, my friend. when a discussion is more than 4 paragraphs, i skip a paragraph and read the first and second then the last.

@Kandae11 i also do speed reading, but when i cannot comprehend what is being discussed, i go back and read it carefully and slowly.

You're absolutely right about long comments. I too notice that I sometimes make lengthy comments and it is because I really find the post interesting

Sometimes I too skip, but if post is interesting I read it fully.

I guess it all comes down to the kind of mood that I am in. Different days equals different topics and ability to hold my attention. :)

I agree with your analysis here. There is a happy medium and I always try to get close to what I feel it is. I skip the two liners mostly too.
