A story my Great Aunt Agnes used to tell us was that when she was a baby her mother had been joking with her 4 year old son whom was upset about yet another sister she said well why don't we just feed her to the hogs then.... Well she thought nothing of her joke, and she thought maybe the silly boy would stop asking why we had to keep the new baby sister. Well that is untll Great Great Grandma Audie woke up one evening in an absolute fright her baby was not in her crib, and little Lester was not in his bed, she ran around the house screaming, my boy fed my baby to the hogs i just know it, and she burst out the door to the old hog pen, Little Lester popped out of the outhouse hearing all the screaming and asked his momma what was the matter, she lifted up her boy and shook him, asking what did he do!!! Just then Great Great Grandpa came running after her with baby Agnes in his arms, he yelled out "Darling, she was under the bed!!" They had a big laugh at this story for years, making sure to tell Agnes about when they thought she had been fed to the hogs, Lester used to always tease her later and call her Hog Bait.
