Heck Yes i'm related to Davy Crockett!!!
Sarah L. Halford whom married Allen Edmundson had Sarolina Edmundson whom married Allen Gibson had Allie Dee Gibson whom married Elijah Granville Sewell Smith, Sewell and Allie or the parents of my Great grandfather Leo Glen Smith.
So Sarah would be my Great Great Great Great Grandmother!
Sarah was the sister of the Reverand James Marion Halford who was the 2nd husband of Rebecca Elvira Crockett, daughter of Elizabeth Patton and David "Davey" Crockett.
At the time the 1870 Federal Census for Gibson County,TN Sarah (Halford) Edmundson and son William were living in the household of James D. Dillon In Civil District 1, Post Office, Dyer Station, Gibson County, Tennessee.
1880 Federal Census for Gibson County, TN Lists Sarah Edmonson, age 57, Widowed as head of household.
Ok it's very distant and only through marriage but whatever i am so related to him! : )

LOLZ! what a tortured route to "The King of the Wild Frontier."
My aunt (now deceased) was into genealogy. When my cousins started the begats litany to me, my eyes just glazed over.
My aunt wanted to join the DAR, so she had to prove she was a direct decendant of someone who fought in the Revolutionary War. She did it! The result was a "book" called My Several Ancestors.
So we have roots. Nice to know, somehow. But don't ask me to recite the begats

@chrissbergstrom Oh I was interested, but not a researcher. It was so much info I was overwhelmed.

Yes I think there are usually only a few who really have the calling to research and find ancestors the rest is either a passing interest or of no interest at all.
