First stop: Library

Banks, Oregon

So my first stop of the day is my favorite local library, I checked out to movies that I have heard many good things about Lion and La La Land, I also checked out a book that sounds really good called The Other F Word. The tagline is "The Twin Cities Cryolab Where Families Are Made" it is about a brother and a sister who met as kids but had no idea they were related, they meet again as teenagers realizing the same sperm donor is there father. I am always so interested in books like this that deal with DNA and finding family, it is a young adult novel and with the clever title I suspect it will be full of laughter, the author is named Natasha Friend. Here is a photo of my library finds today, now off to my next stop for the day as you all follow me along on my journey through town : )

My library has a ton of good, current movies. Unfortunately the discs get so banged up from heavy use, often they won't even play in my DVD player. Fortunately my branch also participates in the Hoopla program, so I can rent digital copies of movies, albums, and ebooks too.

@chrissbergstrom Oh, it's totally worth while! There is a limit as to how many things you can check out per month, but there's no worry about late fees (it returns itself).

That book sounds really interesting. I just recently got a movie from our local library, I need to find a good book that can keep my attention because as of late I don't have the attention span for reading the way I once did. I think I just need to get back into it. I am still finishing my friends novel...2 years later and while it's good my brain can't stay focused. I need something that's simple to read that will kind of get me back into the habit.

@chrissbergstrom Yeah, sometimes fun and easy reading is what you need. I love reading but I can only read so much before I lose attention. I never used to be that way though just in recent years.

Yes I think that's why I like teen novels they are fun and interesting not really DEEP meaning not alot you have to really think about like big historical memoirs.

There is a special section for new releases and they are a first come first serve basis so no holds so I can often get lucky

@spiderdust yes that is what it's called here to it is a great service as usually the holds on new releases are awful you have to wait a year just to get it

@chrissbergstrom That reminds me, our library also has a "Lucky Day" section, where new copies of movies (and newly released books) are available for checkout. They're all high demand items, so if you find something there, it's your "Lucky Day".

I haven't seen either of those. Sounds like a pretty cool YA novel, though.
