My mom

My mom is/was a single parent of two.
She taught both my brother and I how to walk, run, ride bikes, read, write, play games, do laundry, cook, etc.
She also made sure that we always had gifts underneath the tree at Christmas, along with christmas stockings. And that our birthdays were special. Even if she couldn't spend a forunte and throw a birthday bash.
She never let being a single parent stop her from being the best parent she could be. And that we deserved.
She also never talked down about my "father" either like most parents do these days. Instead she made us talk to him on the phone whenever he called, until we were old enough to like or dislike him for ourselves.
Now..
My mom and I may be together all the time, watch mostly all the same shows and movies, and wear the same clothes, etc, but my mom and I haven't always gotten along.
Like when she found out her 15 year old (me) was having sex and then again days later when we found out I was pregnant.. Plus when other things had happened, on her end, from 2010 to probably 2015.
But things happen, for whatever reason..
And I'm just glad we're talking and hanging out all the time, and laughing alot again.. (which I thank all my little nieces and nephews for helping us by us hanging out with them together and enjoying all the moments).. cause I finally feel like I have my mom back.. and a bestfriend in her (again).
So.. yeah.. Happy Mother's Day to one of my bestfriends.. My mom.
Ps: Growing up, we had a pull out couch that we would all lay on together every night to watch movies and tv. Its one of my favorite past times.

The fact that you have grown up and you appreciate her says a lot, really. It is a good thing. Sounds like a fun memory. We would watch television upstairs in my parent's room when I was a young teen. They had a bed and also a sofa and chair, it was a big room. Those were great family times.

You're mother sounds like a really great lady, single mothers really do not get enough credit, my mom was a single mother and she did a damn good job raising her kids and now her grandkids
