National Football League owners award the city of Tampa Florida the chance to host Super Bowl LV in 2021 on Tuesday at their meetings in Chicago Illinois.
The City of Los Angeles was supposed to host the Super Bowl in 2021 but since the new Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood Park will not be open for business until 2020, the officials of the league would not grant the Los Angeles market the Super Bowl until 2022.
The owners of the league have a rule that a Super Bowl will not be awarded to a city where a stadium or team is in its first season of playing professional football.
New Orleans was the other city that could have hosted the Super Bowl in 2021, but conflicts with conventions and the Mardi Gras celebrations issued a conflict to host a Super Bowl that year.

I remember that Super Bowl when the Seattle Seahawks busted the Denver Broncos at the Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford.

@Deepizzaguy It was a cool thing for Jersey. Too bad the $hitty public transit system couldn't handle all of the people! hahaha
