Travels to Japan - Nikko, pt 5 - Main Temple Building

This is the main temple building that towered over us as we approached. Japanese temples are very large, and I love the distinctive architectural style of the roof, which is why I shot upward. There is a long shot of the temple in Part 2, if you would like to see more of the building as a whole. It was an overcast day, but it just makes the unique shape of the roofline stand out even more!

Such magnificent architectural designs in Japan I can see.
It is huge Ali.
I often wonder about the workers building these precision buildings.

They were constructing these in honor of the shogun, so they would view it as their honor and duty to do the best job.
