Baywatch movie flopped in the box office

Paramount Studios is feeling the pinch of having another summer movie based on a television show that ran of NBC from 1989-1990 and in syndication from 1991-2001.
The movie "Baywatch" that stars Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Priyanka Chopra and Alexandra Daddiro was a comedy version of the television series that in my opinion was mediocre at best despite having some good looking female lifeguards and male lifeguards in the Los Angeles County area.
Come on maybe Paramount is getting the message that rebooting a television series that was at best mediocre with some actors that outside of Johnson and Efron, I would not recognize the other cast members of the movie from a hole in the wall at the Balboa Pool in Balboa Panama.
I do not to say "I told you so" to Dwayne Johnson but how many times have we told you to stick to making movies and keep your mouth shut about politics?

How do they know it "flopped" with two days to go in the holiday weekend?
Oh, well, not that I'm crying over this news. They're so drained of originality in Hokeywood that the only TV show they haven't remade is My Mother the Car.. I also agree with you that shooting one's mouth off politically is automatically going to alienate half of the population, so why do it?

is anyone really surprised? And they are bringing back Will and Grace to TV. Who thinks this is a good idea? I LOVED LOVED LOVED the show way back when but it was tired and stale by the time it ended. Why are we bringing it back? It is going to make a mockery of what was, at one point, a really good show.

That is the problem with the reboots of some shows. They push the envelope by using profanity and skimpy clothing which turns me off.

@Deepizzaguy I just think you need to leave the shows alone and to be remembered as classics. Of course I'd love to see more Will & Grace but I don't want it turned into a cartoon of itself. I doubt it will last more than 1 season. Profanity and skimpy clothing don't bother me but I'm from NJ not LA.

@NJChicaa I mean I am old school where pinups of female cartoon heroines wore one piece swimsuits instead of bikinis.

I knew that this remake would be a flop from the moment they confirmed the production.

The only good thing of the television show was the female lifeguards dressed in their red swimsuits and the rescues of the victims.

@banksim The movie made the television show look like Primus by comparison.
