Abby and her husband and Ruby are in Murphy, North Carolina.
Today we began our mini-vacation. Unfortunately over the weekend I developed another infected gum so I had to get into see the dentist first thing this morning. Another antibiotic and a little soreness where he dug around!
Things got better, we loaded up the SUV and headed SE. This rental cabin is at the top of a rather steep mountain - my ears clogged twice on the way up here! But what you get when you walk in this house is the view in the photo! You can see it from every room.
Unfortunately, its a little hazy. I hope tomorrow it will be clear. They say you can see 50 miles - it's looking NE.
The rental is very nice - all the necessities and lots of extras...even Direct TV so no learning curve with the TV.
Tomorrow off to a bagel shop where we purchased bagels about 9 years ago and they were very good, and it's the same owners...so keeping fingers crossed!

@AbbyGreenhill The hubby almost broke a shoulder a few minutes ago. He has lost balance while going from a room to another and badly hit the shoulder against the door jamb. I am glad he has to see his doctor tomorrow.

Right now the sun is up and the clouds are in the valley so I can't even see anything except the top of a closer mountain.

@AbbyGreenhill Many parts of the country we have visited recently is the same as our last visits except for an occasional Walmart (shudder) or a fast food place that seems so out of place!

We have done and continue to check things off of the list of things we wanted to do here -most are food related!
We were here about 10-12 years ago and I will say things have improved (grown) a lot. Probably the casino helped with that. The views are amazing but we also had wonderful views of the Smoky's when we lived in that area. This cabin really shows off the view very well the way it is situated on the property. I just hate the road up here - very very narrow, winding and blind curves. I would not come herein winter!
We went to Hayesville yesterday and that small town has not changed at all except for the huge solar panel 'farm' we saw.

I didn't even need the antibiotics - my gum was pain free and swelling was gone the next morning. The dentist cleaned it very well!

These gum problem s are the worst, ..my mom suffers a lot .I really pity her. We follow some home remedies to get rid of pain

The gum is feeling 100 better, swelling and pain are gone thank goodness. I used salt water several times which helps draw things out.

The mouth is much improved, swelling is down and pain is just slight. It didn't stop me from eating steak!
