My Mother is NOT a Mistress!!!

“Your mom shouldn’t be a part of our family’s affair.” It is the rudest thing that you’ll ever read or heard from evil people. One of my late father’s brothers had said this statement. He definitely disrespected my mother. I fought back and said, “My mother is not a mistress.”
They need to back off. In reality, she has all the right to claim my late father’s inheritance. Since the evil relatives are doing such bad behavior towards my mother. My siblings and I are doing her part to face these people. We are not raised to be greedy and know what’s right for the family.
I am sorry for the rant, guys!
“Do you find it rude?”

@Courtlynn I agree. My late father's siblings are becoming evil and unreasonable.

@Shavkat if she was married to him, it is her business. And she would be considered his main family. Not his brothers. Least here in the US.

In my country there are laws for inheritances. Things have been changing with time though and a long time ago, children from unwed parents had less rights that the children had in wedlock. Now we also accept the wife even if the couple is not married by law.

@marguicha No worries. It will come along the process. I think illegitimate children have the right to have their inheritance here.

@Shavkat I hope the process will be soon. I'd cut ties from them too.

i could not like this discussion again, my friend, because i am angry at your relatives for bringing out an unreal, fake and untrue opinion. i hope you were able to contain yourself with the anger.
please correct me, but if the evil relative is "one of your late father's uncles", then he is your grandfather, right? or am i wrong?

@Shavkat oh, so it should be "you late father's brother", not uncle.

Seriously. .. I don't blame you for being upset. People like this have no right trying to step in like this. This is rude and uncalled for. Great way to lose respect for yourself and others when you do some th 8ng like this. This person needs to back off and realize life with your Mom is not always about him.

I don't know what your parents' relationship was so I can't judge. It sounds as if your uncle has a problem with it but he should respect your father's wishes whatever the circumstances.

It's not at all rude. You have to speak up in such circumstances.
