1 is enough for me

June 1, 2017 3:10pm CST
Everybody's asking me when I'll be having more children. I've been telling people for years now that, 1 is enough for me. I've been called selfish, given funny looks, and asked "why?". Simply because it's my decision. I have nothing against people with multiple children, but it's just not for me. I could certainly change my mind at some point, but it would definitely not be on someone else's time

Are you married? If you're a single woman, raising one child alone is probably more than enough, and having more would be irresponsible.

@CurlyHeadedCutie I certainly understand. After our oldest was born, it was three years before my wife decided she wanted us to have a second child.

I am married. My husband understands that what I went through the first time is enough to make any woman not wanna do it again. Some people dont feel the same way.

Having children and how many you have is a personal choice. Nothing wrong with what you choose to do with your life. =)

Thats rude of people to respond in such ways. Its your life. And do they even know you can have more children? As some have one but cant have anymroe, like my Aunt; if she has another one she wont make it. Shell die. And so she hates when people ask when she'll have another.

At one point, I wasn't able to have children. After being treated for certain ailments(Not to become pregnant just for overall wellness), I beacme pregnant. Very randomly. But I had an extremely complicated laboring process and I'm just not quite ready to go back there again. But, it's simply not everyone's business to know any of that.

I have only one child and I face the same situation as you. People keep asking why, relatives showing anger, everyone has many things to say to prove me wrong It's my life and I am fine with one child, I want to give him my all attention and facilities, I want to raise him unmitigated.

It is much better to know this about yourself and stop at one. Some people choose to have none. I think it is no one's business to criticize you for having one child or to criticize others for having more than two or three.
