Re organizing dresser drawers? Or closets?

I saw this on facebook, it was one of those 5 minute craft videos that pop up on my timeline from time to time based on what I have liked in the past. This one was actually quite useful and I thought I would post about what the ideas / tricks were for organization. One showed a set of wooden hangers and a planters hook (those small hooks you put in the ceiling and that well, hook) and screwing it into the bottom of the wooden hanger. I'd assume, for most hangers, you are going to need to drill a hole to accommodate the hook. From there you can hang other hangers in a cascading fashion. Someone else simply used the tab of a soda (pop, fizzy drink) can and put it around the top of the hanger, using the same method. Then out popped cardboard and old toilet paper rolls. The old toilet paper rolls were taped together and intimates were placed within these rolls. The cardboard was cut and then cut again (this time not all the way) to make dividers. We have a few cardboard boxes here, and the men in the family don't know how to throw out the toilet rolls, so it looks like I have a project to under take in the coming days. (The men have their own bathroom that they are responsible for) Sadly, the hanger method I won't be able to use as I don't use the closet in my bedroom. What other ways do you use to save space, and recycle at the same time?

I am just getting rid of clothing I do not wear. We all have out favorite clothes to wear daily and we all have our work clothes. Most of the clothing I have I dont wear. Recycling the clothes by donation. Then I have a neat and clean space.

There are a lot of pieces of clothing I need to rewash and donate. I really don't require much. A couple of every day outfits, a couple of exercising outfits, one or two dress - up deals, and I am good to go. As for work clothing, I have two shirts and two pairs of pants. I am, however, forever saying "I'll use that article of clothing one day."

I can not get to mine. I have two book cases in front of it. Some of the furniture in this room is not my own.

It may be awhile. The toilet paper rolls I thought we had have since been thrown out. I might try a bit of a different method though.. If you search "five minute crafts" on facebook you might be able to find the video that I saw.

@Courtlynn I buy lots of socks or new pairs of underwear and bras. I don't buy too many new tops, jeans, or shoes.

I have hangers that allows you to hang downward, and a basket for all my scarfs, a trunk for my fabric and that's about it for me. Everything else fits in drawers.

I would love to get one of those old fashioned chests / trunks just for the decorative value, but I wouldn't have anywhere to put it. Even if I did have a lot of things to store in it. I have one chest of drawers, a two drawer chest that sits atop that, and two bookcases that are mine. The rest of the furniture in this room does not belong to me, even as I am able to utilize it. Just not fully, as a lot of the items within were left behind by my deceased brother.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I live in a small apartment so I'm always looking for storage. Does your brothers furniture belong to someone else?

I have a closet (cupboard) but it is full of other things, and not handy to get into, or out of.

Oh those ideas sound good. I only have one bamboo closet hanger with spaces for a few undies and things. Its great as I could get rid of that old clunky dresser and have more space.

I have a bookshelf that is mostly empty. It has a few things on it, but nothing I can't relocate. I have been thinking about using it to house some of my clothing I am (at the moment) having to house in another drawer in the bathroom. I thought about using the divider method on one of the shelves, putting camisole tops on top, and the jeans or shorts I have to correspond with them on the bottom.

I think it's a man thing, not being able to dispose of the cardboard rolls from tolietpaper.

Atleast, in this instance, it is something I can benefit from. I tried cleaning their bathroom (the other person living here isn't able to do so) but eventually gave up. Without going into detail, I found out very quickly that it wasn't worth the effort. Now there is a "girl's bathroom" and a "boy's bathroom" and we are all very happy with that arrangement.
