Cycling in the morning

My eldest son started cycling around with his friends lately, usually in the evening, while we go to the park. Yesterday, he joined his friends to go cycling in the morning. I wasn't really comfortable to let him go alone, I still think he is too young to go out alone, so I decided to go with him. I planned to jog, while the kids were cycling. My three kids woke up before 6am, so I decided to bring my little girl and the baby along. We also had our breakfast together with my son's friends. After that, the kids played in the playground for a while, and I met a friend who is a mom, and we just chatted there. The kids woke up early and had good exercise, thus they fell asleep early at night too. It was a fun day. I am thinking, perhaps we can make Saturday a cycling day for the kids, and Sunday a jogging day. Do you go cycling or jogging in the morning?

I used to. I worked the evening shift so would get on the greenbelt and ride for hours early. Then get home about 2p. and to work by 4p. It was a nice time.

Yes, I think it's nice to go to the park, whether jogging, cycling or just walking. So, you are working morning shift now? Do you still go cycling in the evening?

@kaka135 ......No, that was back in the 80's. I am retired now. I don't ride anymore.

That's nice that you paid more attention to your son. I know the accidents will hardly happen, but being careful won't be wrong. Little children need more attentions. I also followed my son when he was little. Lately I ride a bike more often since there is a sharing bike service here. We can have more sharing bikes to choose and they can be free of charge. It is an encouragement for people to ride the bike.

I guess I am still quite protective, as I am staying in big city, and it's actually not really safe here (crimes are around). It's so nice that you have that sharing bike service. I didn't know about this service. It sounds good to have such service in the neighborhood. So, do you share your bikes with them, in return to get to use other's bike, or just go and apply for one to ride?

@kaka135 The sharing bike service provides by different companies. They all have their own bikes. You just use your mobile phone to scan the barcode from the bike and then you can ride it. When you lock your bike, the service will stop automatically.

Yes, I think it's a good activity for family, and friends too. My son enjoys cycling with his friends almost every evening now. It's good that you go to gym every day. Though I am not going to gym, I am trying to make myself workout or practice yoga at home every morning. I really need to do that for my health.

They are just cycling in the neighborhood, and mostly in the park where there is no busy street, so I feel more comfortable to let my son cycle around. I still told him to watch out for the cars in the neighborhood too, though they don't drive very fast, he still needs to be cautious.

Actually they go cycling before the sky turns dark, usually before 7pm here. Moreover, I told him the "rules" and he always follows. I am trying to set our daily rhythm, as my baby has turned one year old, and I can pay lesser attention to him, and more to the family now, especially the two elder ones. The baby can join us for many activities now too, except just sleeping.

I can ride a bike but not well enough to be on busy streets. Jogging is my main form of exercise. It's good that you are able to be with your kids for some quality fun time.

I am embarrassed to say that I don't ride a bike. I really need to learn how to ride with my son's bike. Same as you, my main form of exercise is jogging too. Lately, I started to practice yoga too. It's good as I can do it when the baby is sleeping and I don't need to leave the home.
