Starting To Feel Anxious Yet Uptight

When it comes to my health and what has transpired with me having to have the surgery almost 2 weeks ago makes me really think about things. The surgery was more of a challenge than most people would ever want in there life, and my quality of life has really changed. Most people would not be able to handle this constant pain that I now have. All I know is I somehow got a boil or two on the top part of my back that somehow became major infected to where it made my whole back right around my right shoulder blade swell and turn really red. They had to go in and cut out the infection and it left a big hole in my back that is quite large. Painful at times, is a True understatement. Sometimes even the Oxycodone does not help enough when the pain is the worst. At times it even hurts to move my right shoulder much. This could be a long process depending on how well the wound vac helps it heal, and if they can keep it looking good without any antibiotics in the process. I am winding down the last of the antibiotics they gave me when I left the hospital and hoping it continues to always look good from here. My husband and I are suspecting maybe a Spider bite that got infected this quick, but you never know. Main issue is I am Diabetic, so my Sugar levels are all over the board. Was stressing and now in more pain for cheating. This is really not a process I want to change with anyone. All I can say is if you ever get a boil that is spreading or hard get into see someone immediately because this has not been Fun, and something I would not wish on anyone. The pain is not worth it. Continued Prayers are appreciated and I will be here when I can and keep everyone updated. Have a blessed first full week of June.

Spider bites can hurt like crazy. I had one in my right leg but it was a very tiny one but it did hurt like mad. Speedy recovery for you.

I am so sorry to hear of this pain you have Krause. I know you suffer a lot with all on a constant basis. You are very brave to be able to and you are right, many would not be able to handle it. Being diabetic it is extra worse. Of course will keep you in prayer vigil. Hope that open wound will heal. You too have a blessed June thanks Glad you check in with us.

Oh my goodness, this sounds horrible. I think that being diabetic does not help, the hole will surely take longer to close and heal. I wish to get better soon.

I feel ya on the boil @KrauseHome . When I was 14, I had one on my butt cheek. Dad's solution (since he didn't believe in doctors) was to heat up the rim of a jar and place it directly over the boil. The boil exploded into the bottle along with all the poison. A mixture of cinnamon and honey on the wound and it was healed in 5 days. I really hope you get better soon.

Diabetes causes major complications with wound care and healing. About ten years ago, I had, what I thought was a burn from the heating pad, on my side. The burn progressively worsened over the next 3 days. I went to the doctor and found out it was a spider bite. They did some test and found out the spider was not poisonous, but because of the diabetes, the would worsened instead of got better. I had to go for treatments on a weekly basis for about a month. Under the bandages, they used colloidal bandages (lined with silver and iodine). What I found out, in an embarrassing way, is these bandages will set off the theft monitors in places like WalMart. So after my initial security incident, I had to start carrying a doctors note explaining the bandage would possibly set off the monitors. On a serious note though, for a diabetic, any kind of wound needs to be attended to immediately.
