"Scooter." That's a cute kid's nickname, isn't it? If you remember The Muppet Show, Scooter was the backstage manager and assistant to Kermit the Frog. After tonight, we might have to think differently of "Scooter." Scooter Gennett, a Cincinnati Reds utility player, hit four home runs in the game tonight (6/6), becoming the first player in the history of baseball's first professional team to hit four homers in a game. This is rare. Consider that there have been 23 perfect games pitched in MLB history, but only 17 players have hit four home runs in one game. Gennett, who's a Cincinnati native, becomes the first player to hit four home runs in a game since Josh Hamilton (who, coincidentally, played for the Reds at one point) hit four while playing for the Texas Rangers in 2012.
