When I visited BenCab Museum in Asin Rd, Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet, I took a photo of this particular painting and I was stunned how the artist pictured in his mind the image of God. I was laughing how God looks like and it seems he rushed back to his thrown with a backpack beside his foot. It seems God had his travel escapade. The oil on canvas painting “Ang Bagong Herusalem” (The New Jerusalem) was created by Alfredo Esquillo in 2005.
“What would be your reaction seeing this painting?”
"How do you picture God's image in your mind?"

halla, kabsat.why is the face of God like that? i often see that face when it is the Holy Week, in Quiapo, like that man who assumes God is taking over him. hahah! i still go for the original image of God.

As I expected, my friend. You will also react differently. I agree I had seen some people look like him during Holy Week. I can't believe at first since I also studied in a Catholic High School and never think that God looks like this.lol

@Shavkat if your memory is sharp, isn't that face on TV and in Quiapo where he wears a white robe, with a crown and a scepter, and tells to the 'madlang pipol' that he is God personified?

We are told not to make a picture of God and so if I saw that picture, I would roll my eyes, shake my head and look at the next picture. I don't have a picture of God in my mind.

@Shavkat If I'm not mistaken, the gospels relate 3 occasions when God spoke from heaven but most people were not sure what was happening but there is no occurrence of anyone seeing anything.
John 1:18 (Authorized (King James) Version) 18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

Wow. The artist had a big imagination of how God would look like. Very creative. Not all people will appreciate this because they have a picture of their own God in their mind. The truth is, we don't know what 'He' looks like but I would prefer to picture him as the 'sun'. Because, God for me is the light in the midst of darkness. Others would have their own opinion as well.

@Shavkat Well, the artist was just being an artist. Expressing his own opinion of what God looks like to him..
