That time we almost went to Zaxby's

United States

I woke up this afternoon, walked into the den and told a relative that I was starving. We chatted for a few minutes and then I came back, got online and started using youtube. A few minutes later, that same relative came to knock on my door and ask me "Wanna go grab something to eat?" I readily agreed and off we went. "Zaxby's?" I suggested as I buckled up and adjusted the air vents to my liking. "Sure." So off we went. "You know." I said conversationally, "I haven't been here in a little over ten years probably." We went inside and looked at the menu. "This place is a little pricey." My relative remarked. I agreed and suggested we find someplace else. There was a "Way Back Burger" right next door but it was busy. So we got back in the car, and headed to our regular place, the mexican restaurant. Do you have a Zaxby's where you live? Do you eat there? It's literally been years and we (my friends and I) ever got was fried mushrooms.

It appears as if there isn't a far reach of them across the US either. I am in the South and the only other person who has heard of it is also in the South.

@ScribbledAdNauseum - Yeah, that doesn't sound familiar at all.

No not that I know of and have never heard of it. Guess the prices went up then huh. Well I hope the Mexican place was okay then.

Honestly it's been so many years since I first went? I can't remember how much I paid before. Of course that was also a time in my life when I didn't really know the importance of money, so I am sure I would have paid no matter the cost. Now I am just a thrifty little "I don't need this it's too expensive" type shopper.

It doesn't appear that the fast food chain has a far reach. The only other American to recognize it, like myself, also lives in the South.

Nope, Zaxby's haven't invaded British shores yet. :)

Count yourself lucky. They are pretty basic food wise and very expensive. $8.00 for 5 pieces of chicken, for instance. It's all fried food too. I went there in my young adult years for the fried mushrooms. Friends and I would get a few orders and split them.

IT is a lot of fried foods, and expensive. I mentioned it to my nephew just the other day and he says "my mom and dad take us there sometimes." I told him that was because they had more money than I did! haha.

I enjoy Zaxbys but they are very expensive for us so I very rarely get it. I like their chicken finger plate, their toast is my favorite.

We went in, looked at the menu and then left. I was looking at the food choices and my relative was looking at the price. I hadn't noticed the price yet but wasn't impressed by the food options either.

You really aren't missing out. It's not a big menu and it looked like everything was fried as well. I am sure the food is good, but the prices aren't. I actually hadn't noticed the prices yet, had just been looking at the options. The person I was with was the one that said "look at those prices!"

I just got lunch from there today. I agree it is a little pricey, but I am so sick of McDonalds that I had to go somewhere else. The only other thing around was Sonic and Arbys. I don't like Arbys and the service takes so long at Sonic, I decided on the pricey one.
