I am watching people from the safety of the bus. We're going through the middle of the city on a Friday in rush hour. It's a slow process. There must have been an accident somewhere because already we've been passed by a police van and a police car/rapid response vehicle going in the opposite direction, blue lights flashing and sirens wailing.
The lady in the grey dress should not be wearing the grey dress. She's on a bicycle and the breeze is showing the world her knickers and creating some sort of parachute on her back. I don't think sunbathing on the Piece in tights is such a good idea, either. It does look a trifle silly. Did you see the woman with the giant boobies and the mirrored sunglasses. Film star? Porn star? Just a tourist? Those two young men in their posh black-tie clobber must be students. Is it May Ball season? And why is May Ball season in June?
Are mirrored sunglasses the fashion this year? Is this one of those styles that harks back to the 1980s? I detest talking to people who wear them ... I do not want you watch myself as I chat to you. I do my best to avoid mirrors as it is.
I have just spied a woman I work with through the window. She's an odd lady, never smiley and is today dressed in sandals, black pop socks and a skirt, which just looks silly. Ooh, a new Co-op store. When did that open?
I can hear sirens but these ones are in my head. I go through phases where I seem to constantly hear sirens. Is that a form of tinnitus, mayhaps?
I would like to live in one of these houses in this road, but this is one of the most expensive cities in which to buy property in the UK. Madness. It's not even that nice an area. Double madness.
I have an empty seat next to me, but have found that if I glare at people with my resting b.itch face they don't sit next to me ...

Yes you certainly she a lot while riding on the bus. I take the bus to and from work sometimes and it is always an interesting trip. I prefer to sit alone but sometimes it will be packed and I will have to let somebody sit down.

I often sit on one of the single seats at the front of the bus. I like the single seats!

@Poppylicious I always sit towards the back. We don't have many single seats on our buses

I don't like looking at myself in the mirror. I truly hate it. I would go out of my way to not look at someone while I'm talking to them if they're wearing mirrored sunglasses!

I think they look nice on some people. Not everyone can pull them off. And to me they also look as though the person has something to hide. I don't like eye-contact, but I still want to be able to see your eyes!!

Sunglasses are fine. Mirrored sunglasses are not fine. :)

@Poppylicious There was a special episode with him and Robert Powell for a special (red nose or children in need or similar) as the witless/feckless detectives 5 or so years ago. Other than that, no, I have not seen him much lately either.

Lolz. I loved watching Jasper Carrott when I was a nipper. Haven't really seen him on anything in years.

The only question of yours that I can answer is that the May Balls are supposed to have begun as a celebration at the end of the May Bumps which took place before the exams at the end of May. Quite sensibly, the celebrations were moved to June, after the exams, in 1882 but still kept the name of 'May Balls'.
For those who are confused about May Bumps, the explanation is that the college boat clubs hold races on the river Cam but, as the river isn't wide enough for two eights to pass, boats are started at intervals and if one boat catches up and bumps another, it's considered to have passed that boat and so moves up a place in the complicated ladder system which decides whch boat is the overall winner.

Oh, we got accidentally caught up in the bumps on the river last year! A friend of mine has a narrow boat which he keeps moored near MC and we'd gone for a jolly up to somewhere, Horningsea maybe.

Absolutely ... especially if what we're typing is about them!

Good stream of consciousness writing. But, someone nice might sit next you, maybe?

They probably would, but I'm shy and tend not to talk to strangers! :)
