So the formal negotiations leading to the eventual withdrawal of the 4 countries that make up the United Kingdom of Great Britain (England, Scotland & Wales) and Northern Ireland from the European Union (the Union of 27 other European countries) began today, and are expected to complete in 2 years.
The European Commission released a short video outlining the priorities for the process, from the European side today.
Of course, the UK government could decide to throw in the towel and return to the EU fold at any time... and pigs might fly!

@PatZAnthony For me, I would rather leave the status quo as it is. The enemy you know is better than the unknown... Closing borders, restricting movement, cannot solve the basic problem that people are individuals, and they need to learn how to get on with one another. Period.

Be ready, yes, we'll, I think having a hard border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland will not be a good thing. It goes against the spirit of the Good Friday Agreement to remove divisions in this part of the world...

I don't know a lot about those borders but hope this doesn't make things worse than before all the changes. I think they should have just stayed in the EU. What's so great about all the divisions? I don't see the advantages myself.
