The U S Supreme Court will allow the nickname of the Washington Redskins to stay despite complaints from people who find the nickname Redskins offensive.
Come on give me a break, there was a small college in the former Canal Zone in the city of La Boca in Panama called Canal Zone College whose nickname was the Green Devils.
Please do not ask why the small college that is now Florida State University Panama which is located in the former U S Army base in Fort Clayton which is now called The City Of Knowledge got their nickname.
All I can say if the majority of people have no problem with sports nicknames of animals or minority groups, then enjoy the show.
By the way where the complaints of Americans over the New York Yankees nickname since former Yankees closer Mariano "Mo" Rivera who is a native of Panama played for many years on that team?
He does know the saying "A soldier keeps his friends close and his rivals even 'closer'".

Would you believe that are a few New Orleans citizens who wish that Tom Benson who owns the New Orleans Saints franchise to change the nickname? Tom said no to the few fans who complain that the Saints nickname offends God.

@NJChicaa That is why I make the joke "Is the water safe to drink in New Orleans" with that train of thought.

Good. If one wants to get picky, most team names can be seen as offensive.

I'm glad they ruled that way. During the whole brew-ha-ha reporters would interview a variety of Native Americans and none of them were offended by the name. I never met anyone myself who was offended.
I think there are a lot of people actively looking for ways to be offended and then filing lawsuits over their discoveries.

Good. That PC stuff can get too weird. And it's too selective: the "Indians" are okay but the "Braves" are not? The NCAA has a problem with Illinois' mascot but not Florida State's?

And don't forget the former North Dakota Fighting Sioux hockey team, made to change their name to the Fighting Hawks. It just doesn't fit.
