Not carded for purchasing a bottle of Hennessy VSOP Cognac!

My fiancé was giggling because we weren't carded. It was as if we were under age purchasing a bottle. The cashier looked to be underage, a cheery guy and didn't even bother looking at what we purchased. He rung up our purchase (the box) and told us our total, not one bit to see what the item we purchased was.
- I was quite surprised - I wonder if he may have thought this was a water bottle of some sort.
Anyway, I am no drinker, neither is my fiancé but he wanted a little something! He's more of a wine drinker, but I guess he wants cognac this time. Surprisingly, if you purchase this at the Drugstore like CVS, it would be cheaper than the grocery store at Vons.
- 750ml of this stuff at Vons is $70
- 375ml of this stuff at CVS is $30 with a CVS card. Essentially you can get two small bottles to be 750ml and still save $10.
I got him to purchase the smaller bottle and still save money. Plus no one else is going to be drinking this stuff, so it makes much more sense.

The cashier looked to be a young kid. He didn't hesitate to see what the item was and since it was in a box, maybe he didn't even notice. But if he did think we were old all well! And yes, should be carded anyway.

Obviously, at my age I never get carded when I am buying something on my own. But if I am with my girlfriend, we both get carded every time! Sometimes, when I feel like being a brat, when I get carded I will point to my hair and tell the cashier "These gray hairs are my ID." It usually does the trick every time! haha

@moffittjc Lol, I have 2 strands. Gray is the new hair color to dye. But I'd never dye my hair gray. Is it popular there?

I remember the days when I used to get carded (you know how Asians look way younger than they really are). But for me I guess those days are gone . . . maybe the grays give it away 
. My old boss was a cognac guy . . . so that's what we'd all go for after work sometimes (in my early 20s) - and of course back then I always got carded.

My fiancé has a mustache lol! It grows out easily and he shaves every few days 
Most asians don't get hairy on their face but he sure does!!

Personally that is a little scary when they do not card. Here in WA state good way to get a sting going. Hopefully he is of age and will never get caught
