Setting aside the fact that a big multinational bank has made this advert, I thought I'd ask:
How much could any of us reveal about any other myLotter with whom we communicate regularly on-line (whether just via myLot, or via other means)?
Watch this short, but cleverly-constructed, TV ad, and think before you answer...

It depends of people. I have not yet given my credit card number, but it is not difficult to guess the city where I am living : it is not a big secret, and I have already told it here. For the rest it might be more difficult, as I do not register twice with the same user name, and I never posted my photo on any site. And I left Facebook long ago because they were too inquisitive and my best friends were not on FB

Most people on myLot could pinpoint my home, since I've not been shy with photos and to some, even my address/geolocation.
But I could also give the geolocation of anyone on myLot. (or at least their IP address.)

@pgntwo LOL! Yeah, my IP address puts me in Chile, at least part of the time. It depends on which device I have running.

An interesting fact - not all IP addresses marry up with the expected geo-location, sometimes the registrar is in another state or country. Someone pointed out to me that mylot.com is now registered with a California address, even though it claims to be governed according to the laws and statutes of the state of Kansas...
