I Quit

I Quit - Yes. I have grown older and (perhaps) wiser as time has moved along. It is recognized that the first of these two things was most inevitable, and that the second of them has been (and still is) debatable. All the same, it has been instructive to me to list out that which I have quit: 1. Fathering new offspring and sponsoring new grand-offspring and great-grand-offspring 2. Over-eating, particularly my favorites - baked beans, fried potatoes, onion salad, and ice cream 3. Cussing and using words of color 4. Cheating at card games 5. Believing what I read in the newspaper or on the Internet 6. Trying to remember stuff 7. Believing that I might someday like cats 8. Licking postage stamps that have sticky stuff on the paste-down sides 9. Taking cold showers 10. Complaining about anything other than my singing voice Well, that is probably enough to quit right now. I will think of more later on in the event that I can rid myself of forgetfulness, lack of money, and the desire to visit my Mill Otter (MyLotter) friends just about every day. So, what are you quitting, if anything? Image: Pixabay.com's "Quit Sack"

I know this will offend sone, but I'm quitting church, mainly because it's just hard to maintain a special needs, high strung child, and maintaining a bit of peace which is what church should be.

@librarygeek1980 - Ms Jennifer - Sometimes it is wise to quit one scene and enter into another. there are many different churches and another might be helpful to you in your needs. -Gus-

Love your list of things that you quit. Many people should read this and follow the list! Maybe for me, it will be to quit listening to the complainers in this world. Really, many have nothing to complain about-

@PatZAnthony - Ms Pat - I have long been of the opinion espoused by a friend of mine from back in elementary school days. He used to say, "All's well that ends." -Gus-

If you're ever tempted to take any of those back up again, drop me a line - I'll reinforce the reason why you quit in the first place. If I remember ;)

@pgntwo - Friend PGN - I shant quit you, Good PGN, because anyone with such kindness and wisdom offering such welcome assistance is a treasure to keep. Ooops. I forgot that I was also going to avoid the bad habit of hanging onto stuff that would only go to waste. But I do thank you from the bottom of my (cannot remember the name of that particular internal organ) -Gus-
