This is a cropped section of a picture I took many years ago of the northeast suburbs of El Paso. The green you see are in front or back yards or around the schools or small businesses, there is little really green in our deserts unless it is an extremely wet year, those don't happen very often and 2009 wasn't a wet year. Can you see the difference between the suburbs and whats left of the desert?

It seems that the desert is not so near El Paso. Or am I wrong?

If you look beyond the suburbs you can see the desert. The area beyond the houses is our desert and it's at least 100 miles to get to those mountains in the background

In 2009, to me that's many ..... hey, 3 years is many years to me. Yes, it is way too crowded but the worst part is how much desert was destroyed for all that.

Great photograph. The road is leading to the beach straight I think.

Thank you but the road is in the desert, I'm landlocked no bodies of water near me.

The desert is shrinking so mostly it's a housing area. I'm unhappy that people always destroy the desert here to make things like golf courses and parking lots, I feel sorry for the desert wildlife that no longer has a home.

Thank you, but deserts don't really make good vacation spots.

The city is growing and spreading and absorbing the desert.
