I was ready to yell - The Russians are coming, the Russians are coming!

As I have said many times, we live in the boonies. No major airports closer than an hour or more and no military bases. We get a few planes flying over, but old prop jobs and a helicopter or two.
In the last year we have had two jets fly over, one after another about every six weeks. They are so fast the house shakes. The neighbor heard them but has no clue and he has lived here 17 years. I never saw them, only heard them - until today.
I was in the pool earlier and about noon I heard the jet approaching from the west. Within a few seconds he flew over so low, so close, so fast and so loud I was shocked. I actually saw the pilot but for just a split second.
Ruby stopped in her tracks because of the noise and I told her to wait another one was coming. About 30 second later the second jet flew over to my right. Again, low, fast and loud. I caught a glimpse of something red, some kind of emblem.
They were fighter jets and the noise was exactly the same as when we vacationed in Beaufort, SC and the jets flew training missions right above our rental for a week.
My husband was mowing the front and he said the jet approached him from behind and didn't see it coming but the noise was so loud he thought his tractor went berserk! By the time he looked up the plane was gone. I told him what I saw and I said I just hope it wasn't the Russians!
I wonder how I can find out what's going on?

Flying above the tree line wasn't so exciting - more like nerve wracking.

I do not know. I have lived in a military town most of my life so its common to see everything, we even heard and get the shake and rattle of the windows when they test the tanks down at the depot, that scares Roscoe so bad.

@AbbyGreenhill maybe they are visiting the secret alien hide out, to get information, or new tech?!

Once in awhile they fly overhead here too. The Next Door neighborhood group usually posts a warning that the military is doing training exercises in mountain terrain. It is pretty unnerving though.

It it were more than just the two I would have put on ear protection! They were just passing by thank goodness, but from where to where...

That's probably what they are doing now. Either that or transporting ships to other bases. Don't know how you would find out anything. Call the closest base I suppose. I'm sure they won't give you much info unless it is just practicing.

It could be a Military Air Craft going by. Do you have a Military Base not too far away from where you live?

No - no military base or any other air field - it was military - I don't think anyone but military flies fighter jets.

@AbbyGreenhill We have had helicopters fly low over our house at times, but I am pretty sure it is Cops looking for convicts, those who are on the run who have done wrong and trying to escape the authorities.
