Driving and public transportation

I like to drive and take public transportation. Driving is more convenient and can get you most places on land but you have to worry about parking and it is more expensive. Public transportation goes to many places and is cheaper plus someone else is doing the driving. It does also require patience waiting for it. You have to deal with traffic sometimes either way. What do others think?

If you live near Boston you can take public transportation. Cities in the northeast, and megacities like Chicago, have excellent public transportation systems. Try getting around L.A. without a car, though. I did try it -- once. It was a nightmare.

I have never been to L.A. but I have been down south and there's little if any public transportation there. I lived in Louisiana for a year and and that is when I learned to drive because I would be stuck otherwise. I like the option of having both to choose from and living in the city.

I don't drive so public transportation is how I get around, if my husband is not around to take me somewhere... Good thing I live in NYC where there are a lot of ways to get around without a car. But I have to say that driving is more convenient. Saves time and you can get to many places you need to get to and without wasting hours on the commute...

I agree with you and right now I share a car with my girlfriend and her grandmother who I live with. When I can drive or get a ride it is good when I have to go somewhere that is only accessible by car. I also like that I can catch a bus down the street to the subway and get to a variety of places throughout Massachusetts.

I think yes public transportation is the best to travel to most of the places, they are even cheaper
